Author Guidelines

ResearchCycles Press welcomes authors and editors to submit original academic manuscripts for publication within its Book Series and Individual Books collections. All submissions must follow the ethical, editorial, and formatting standards described below and in the Official Author Guidelines PDF, available for download.

1. Registration and Access to the Platform

To submit a manuscript, authors must first register on the ResearchCycles Press platform:

  • Go to: https://researchcycles.press/books/index.php/rb/index
  • Select “Register” to create a user account.
  • Once registered, log in to access the OMP Submission System.
  • After logging in, choose the appropriate Book Series or Book Collection and click on “Make a New Submission.”

Only registered users can submit manuscripts, track their progress, and communicate with the editorial team through the OMP system.

2. Submission Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
  • Texts may be written in English or Spanish, using clear academic language.
  • Recommended length:
    • Book Chapters: 4,000–8,000 words
    • Full Books / Monographs: 60,000–90,000 words
  • Manuscripts must include: title, abstract, keywords, main text, references, and appendices (if applicable).

3. Formatting Standards

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx) or OpenOffice (.odt)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt (main text), 10 pt (footnotes)
  • Line spacing: 1.5 lines
  • Paragraph indentation: 0.5 cm (first line)
  • Margins: Top 2.5 cm, Bottom 2.5 cm, Left 3 cm, Right 2.5 cm
  • Text alignment: Justified
  • Headings hierarchy: 16 pt / 14 pt / 12 pt (see PDF guide for examples)
  • Reference Style: APA 7th edition or Vancouver, depending on the discipline.
  • Tables and Figures: must include legends, titles, and copyright permission if necessary.

4. Manuscript Structure

  • Cover Page – Title, authors (full name, affiliation, ORCID, email).
  • Acknowledgments (optional).
  • Abstract and Keywords – both in English and Spanish.
  • Main Text – divided into chapters or thematic sections.
  • Conclusions.
  • References.
  • Appendices (if any).

5. Review and Publication Process

  • All manuscripts are subject to an initial editorial review followed by a double-blind peer review.
  • Authors receive reviewer feedback through the OMP system and must resubmit revised versions within the assigned deadline.
  • Once accepted, the work undergoes editing, formatting, and DOI assignment prior to publication.
  • Each publication receives an ISBN, DOI, and long-term preservation in LOCKSS/CLOCKSS systems.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another press for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

All personal information collected during the submission, editorial, and publication processes is treated confidentially and used exclusively for academic and operational purposes related to book and chapter publication.

1. Data Collection

The system collects the following information when users register or submit a manuscript:

  • Name and surname
  • Email address
  • Institutional affiliation
  • ORCID (optional)
  • Country and professional information

2. Use of Data

Personal data will be used solely for:

  • Managing submissions and editorial workflow
  • Communication between authors, editors, and reviewers
  • Publication metadata (authors’ names, affiliation, ORCID, emails if authorized)
  • Indexing and DOI registration via Crossref

3. Data Protection

Personal information will not be sold, shared, or disclosed to third parties, except when required for:

  • DOI assignment and indexing
  • Legal compliance
  • Preservation networks (LOCKSS/CLOCKSS)

4. Reviewer Confidentiality

Reviewer identities are kept strictly confidential during and after the peer-review process.

5. Cookies and Technical Data

The platform uses cookies exclusively to improve user experience and navigation.
